Do your tours include flights?
Do you need to be a diver to come on the trip?
The humpback whale trips are snorkeling only, there is no diving allowed. There is also no need to dive, as the whales are at the surface most of the time.
How do I sign up for a trip?
Please email Nadia@SDLExpeditions.com or click on the “Book Now” button, to reserve your space for a trip. Once we have received your non refundable deposit, your space will be confirmed. All our trips offer payment plans.
How much is the deposit?
All trips require a non-refundable deposit of $1000 USD to confirm and reserve your spot on any trip.
Each trip offers different due dates on payments leading up to the actual trip.
2018 Payment Plan:
1- $1000 USD Deposit
2- 50% of the balance is due on January 15, 2018
3- Final balance is due April 15, 2018
How can I pay?
You can pay using Credit Card, there is a 3.5% processing fee or if you live in the USA, you can do an online bank transfer for $25 USD
What is your cancellation policy?
90 Days or more 20% of the trip cost + Deposit
Less than 90 Days = 100% Cancellation Fee
Are we guaranteed to see the whales?
Well, it’s the ocean, so you never know. However, most of our animal specific trips are scheduled during the peak season, to help optimize the actuality of great encounters. We are very confident that you will get in the water with the whales.
Can you help arrange my travel visas?
Visitors from most countries do not need a visa to enter Tonga (for a period of no longer than 31 days).

What are the age restrictions on your tours?
To travel independently you must be at least 18 years of age. There are no upper age limits for most of our tours . We suggest October tours for kids under 17, the whales are much more settled, and it will be easier for your munchkins!
I’m a single traveler, will I be charged a single supplement?
Single Supplements for your own room are available, the prices will varry based on which trip you choose. Please ask us 🙂
Can I join a tour late or leave it early?
It is possible to leave a tour early, however, you will be responsible for your own arrangements from the moment you decide to leave the tour. You would also be responsible for all costs associated with joining a tour late or leaving one early. If you feel this may be necessary please contact us before you book your dive adventure. Your expedition cost will not change.
Are airport transfers included?
Airport transfer is included in the trip cost from VAV to and from our accommodations on the island.
Is tipping included and if not, how much should I budget?
Tips are not included in the tour price and tipping is entirely at your discretion. We generally advise 5-10% of the trip price.
